You’ve Got the Power!

You've Got the Power!

For some reason, whenever I hear that saying, I think of Jim Carrey in the movie Bruce Almighty. 🙂

For those who are not familiar, here you go 🙂

Happy Motivation Monday All!

We Want To..

Our WantsEvery time we sit down to have a business meeting and assess the month that just passed and the month we’re going into, we stop and list our wants.  These are our wants.  We want to heal, educate, and make honest products!… and in that order!

We truly want to help people on every level.  Mackenzie has goals of completing courses in Nutrition and to become a Master Herbalist and Danielle has goals of becoming a Physician and practice in Natropathy and also become a Master Herbalist.

We find things out every day and we want to share our knowledge with everyone.  We want to teach you how to make things yourself and to learn more about the ingredients you are using.

And last, but not least, we want to make honest products.  We want to make products that you can trust, no matter what country you live in!  We want products that you know will be safe for you and not just because the FDA has approved a “certain amount” of “something” to be in it.  Some of our products may only last 30 days, but that’s because we’re not pumping them up with artificial preservatives so it can sit on your shelf for months at a time.

So when you see the name Two Simple Owls, you know that you are not only getting an honest product, but you have people building a company that want to heal and to educate.

With Mickey Mouse on, I can write from the heart.

Good Morning! I hope everyone has had a great week so far!

I have been getting emails lately from friends, clients, past clients and future, about my status as a photographer in this industry. I’m still here!:)At the end of last year my main second shooter found out her husband was relocating with his job and she was going to be moving in the begining of 2013. With that in mind and me being Uuuuuber pregnant, I decided that I was going to pull back on my bookings for 2013 and really focus on my children. Being a mom to 2 kids has been a lot, and I mean a lot of work. Way more than I ever thought. At least for me. Some people transition from 1 to 2 children with total ease, me…well lets just say I would finally get one child dressed for the day and the other would have stripped down out of her clothes AND poopie diaper, leaving an awesome trail of all the above for me to clean up, all while everybody cried, including me;)It took some getting used to for me. So I filled my time with sessions here and there and 2nd shot for other photographers so I didn’t get rusty before 2014 hit.

In the middle of all that, my sister and I had one of our many conversations about all the chemicals and unneccessary junk in all our cosmetics, lotions and soap. Before I knew it, a dream of doing something about it suddenly became a reality. My sister is a genius and she has put a lot of blood (well that isn’t sanitary) sweat, and tears (hey, its better than Triclosan, thats for sure) into creating formulas that work without all the nasty added ingredients.  From that we started up a our new company Two Simple Owls. Two, because there are two of us. Simple, because we are all about the simple ingredients. Owls, because as children, my sister used to pretend she was one and its a silly joke in our family. But mainly because Owls are known for being wise and we’re all about making wise decisions for ourselves and our family when it comes to these products. Heck, you can EAT them if you want. They are that safe!

Anyhow, the point is, that I am now back up and full time shooting again for 2014 (and beyond that). I’m also helping out one of my great friends and second shooting for her while she gets her feet wet in a new genre of wedding photography. On top  of all that goodness, Two Simple Owls has taken off in an amazing way and I LOVE working with my sister:)So you will be seeing a lot of posts via facebook of photoshoots, my awesome children, and Two Simple Owls. yes, I’m doing it all.  and with lots of prayer, espresso and support from my amazing Husband, it hasnt been all that difficult.

With that said, I’m getting ready to post an amazingly beautiful wedding I just photographed and this weekend my sister and I are having our first show. So come out and meet the Owls!

Thank you to everyone who reached out to me wondering what was going on in my world. There have been lots of changes and I’m in a new season of life as a mom of 2, photographer, and a beauty product magician. I mean, one must be a magician if they can get all those nasty additives out of our everyday products right?

I look forward to seeing all of you in the coming year!Image
